Douglas Drysdale

Part II Architectural Assistant

Douglas studied his Part 1 and Part 2 Studies at the Mackintosh School of Architecture in Glasgow, obtaining many accolades for his thesis project entitled ‘Uma Mesquita Para Lisboa’, which aimed to further integrate an isolated islamic community on the outskirts of Lisbon, back into the characterful and historic Alfama district of the city centre.  He gained a distinction for his dissertation that explored the relationships between fashion and architecture.

Prior to joining dMFK, Douglas worked primarily on high end residential projects for notable London practices. He brought the skills learned there in design, detailing and project management with him to dMFK and aims to scale these to a higher level across multiple sectors. Douglas hopes to complete his Part 3 Studies this September at Westminster University.

Outside of work, Douglas enjoys photography, cycling, running and traveling, whilst helping out during the weekends at his wife’s fine chocolate shop in Shoreditch.
