Hollie Welch

Part II Architectural Assistant

Hollie studied her Part I & Part II Architecture Studies at Northumbria University in Newcastle, here Hollie received a number of accolades including a RIBA President’s Silver Medal and RIBA Post Graduate Hadrian Award nomination for her design thesis entitled “Adventurous Play”.

Drawing upon engrained experiences of adventure and exploration; and how these sensibilities can present themselves in adult life, the thesis project sought to challenge negative perceptions of disused industrial places through creative reuse and examine how such places exist within displaced social infrastructures.

Hollie has been with dMFK for 3 years and has been part of the design and planning team for a number of large scale projects, including a twenty three storey tower in Wembley, the redevelopment of Former Nestle Factory, and Chester Northgate; a mixed retail and residential development in the heart of Chester City centre. She is currently working on an exciting new commercial office fit out in Canary Wharf, due for completion in summer 2019.

Hollie is currently undertaking her Part 3 studies at Westminster University which she hopes to complete by September 2019
