Cambridge House

Main Project Info

A proposal for a new build timber clad 400 sqm house in a forest in Cambridgeshire. The house straddles a brook which flows through the site, which has been widened to create a natural swimming pond and is sited to maximise long southerly aspect to the beautiful wooded garden. It sits broadly in the position of an existing dwelling, the presence of which forms the basis of the planning case to rebuild a better designed, more sustainable, and contextually appropriate building. It is clad in a silver grey cementitious timber rainscreen cladding. The plan is arranged in 2 main elements, creating a clear split between communal family areas and private / guest accommodation.
