Main Project Info
One of a series of loft fitouts within a 19th Century Schoolboard school in London SE1.
The space was originally two classrooms separated by sliding screens. Once we persuaded the client to remove his sentimental attachment to the screens, we were able to create a mezzanine level that hung either side of the spine wall and to keep our interventions clear of windows.
The entire structure is a monocoque stressed skin of plywood. This enabled us to create a 10 cm thick floor to ensure decent ceiling heights.
