Life at dMFK

Three friends started dMFK. That idea of friendship – building trust through play, feeling strong together, helping each other out – underpins how we all interact and work today.

Starting your career

Interested in architecture?

Getting into architecture can feel daunting, but it’s worth taking the leap. We love receiving CVs and portfolios from budding architects, especially young Londoners from low-income backgrounds. Keep an eye on our news page and socials for upcoming portfolio workshops and events. Even if you’re not sure, just reach out – good things could happen.

We’re passionate about improving access to careers in the built environment. The spaces we design are for everyone, and we feel strongly that everyone should have a voice in designing them. In the last 12 months, we’ve worked with Construction Youth Trust, HomeGrown Plus, Local Village Network, The Baytree Centre and Beyond the Box to support young people from underrepresented backgrounds interested in a career in architecture. We have also signed the Mayor’s Fund for London Diversity Pledge, formalising our commitment to addressing a lack of diversity across the profession, and set up a work experience programme that has provided 15 young people so far with training and guidance towards their career decisions.
