About dMFK
We design beautiful architecture and interiors around the human experience of buildings. We’re curious, social and easy to work with — shaping our projects through conversation, drawing and face-to-face collaboration, in our studio, every day.

Our approach
Beautiful buildings work hard.
So do we.
Some buildings shout for attention; others quietly earn it. Beautiful buildings make it look easy. They feel right. They’re subtle, approachable, informal but never accidental. They sit well in context, make people feel good, and value follows naturally. That’s the kind of architecture we’re here to make.
Our studio
We work face to face, every day
Our home at 76 Charlotte Street — once Channel 4’s cinema, bar and production suite — is now a place to work, gather and experiment. Downstairs at dMFK is a living sample library where materials and ideas are always on show and in use. The space changes character as the day turns into evening; conversations stretch out and the studio opens up.

Works start on major revamp of City of London’s iconic Tower 42

Our services
We bring together architecture, interiors & design
Our projects begin with conversation, to first create a shared understanding of how a building needs to perform, and how it can be beautiful. Architecture and interiors inform one another, helping our places feel coherent, joined-up and purposeful. From structure to detail, everything is considered — because when buildings work hard, every part matters.

Our awards
We’re proud of our achievements
The recognition our work has received — Design Studio of the Year, Commercial Firm of the Year, Office Architect of the Year, reflects the care, focus and commitment of a lot of people over many years. We don’t set out to win awards, but when we stay focused, work hard and remain true to what we believe, they often follow. Long may that continue.

Sustainability
We’re in a climate and biodiversity emergency
Reuse and retrofit have been central to our approach for over twenty years — not just for environmental reasons, but because we value character, economy and the stories buildings carry. We’ve become experts in this complex work. Where new buildings are a necessity, we minimise impact and plan long, useful lives. We’re an ISO 14001 accredited practice, and part of Architects Declare.
Our aim is always to leave places better than we found them. Reuse and retrofit have shaped our approach for over twenty years — not only for environmental reasons, but because we value character, economy, and the stories buildings carry. It’s complex work, and has allowed us to build deep expertise. Where new buildings are required, we design carefully, minimising impact and planning for long, useful lives.
Outreach
We help young people from all backgrounds enter architecture
We work with Construction Youth Trust, Homegrown Plus, Local Village Network and Beyond the Box, and run a long-standing work experience programme that has supported over a hundred students at school and university level, many of whom have gone on to careers in architecture or work with us now.
