Jonny Wong sat with Rachel Birchmore and Louise Rodgers for the latest episode of Coaches on the Couch, exploring leadership and development in the built environment.

A wide ranging discussion touching on self awareness, growth, and metacognition, one of the key takeaways from Jonny’s perspective is that effective communication is essential for strong leadership.

Being able to read the room, facilitate discussions where everyone feels able to contribute, and be honest about when you don’t know the answers are some of the critical skills which support the growth of your team while running an effective business.

“[Being a leader] is about being able to be wrong, and wrong publicly. Collaboration isn’t a niceness; it’s essential to our work. And the most efficient way to get the best projects, is to create an environment where everyone can contribute.”

— Jonny Wong, Director at dMFK
